Molly

MollyOne of my main goals as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and Certified Life Coach (CC) is to provide my clients with a safe, conducive atmosphere to allow their genuine self to have a voice. The counseling relationship can provide a unique space of non judgment and confidentiality. Many of us wear many masks. Masks tend to be uncomfortable and suffocating if worn too long. I strive to offer clients a place where masks can be safely removed and genuine thoughts, feelings, wants, and needs can be safely explored and addressed.

We often work outside ourselves to find meaning, direction, and identity in our lives. This often leads to feeling anxious, depressed, disconnected, overburdened, and empty inside. Let me help you self-reflect, heal relationships, connect with yourself and others, and find meaning and purpose in your life. I can help facilitate your self-understanding and collaboratively guide you in removing the obstacles that impede your growth and change. Rather than just treading water to stay afloat, you can start swimming and finding challenge and excitement in your life.

You don’t have to continue feeling trapped, immobilized and out of control.

  • Are you having trouble making choices?
  • Issues with drinking or other addictions?
  • Do you feel trapped in an unhappy relationship? Job?
  • Do you lack self control and feel frustrated with your inability to behave in accordance with your intentions?
  • Do you continue to engage in behavior that brings negative consequences to your self and others?
  • Are you experiencing emotional distress related to guilt, anxiety, or lack of confidence?
  • Do you feel invisible in your own life?

We can work collaboratively to help you get unstuck and provide the tools necessary for change. Perhaps it’s time to stop just surviving and begin thriving. For those that find themselves in transition points in life where meaning systems seem overthrown, we can work together on issues related to:

  • Adolescence
  • Midlife Crisis
  • Leaving College
  • Empty Nesters
  • Separation
  • Divorce
  • Retirement
  • Grief and Loss

About Me:
My formal training includes attendance at New York University (NYU), University of Vienna, Austria through the Institute of European Studies (IES), and the University of Miami Honors Program, where I received my B.A. In 1973. I received my Masters Degree in Counseling with Honors from Rollins College Graduate Program in Counseling in 2008.

My practicum Study was conducted at Rollins College Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) and my Internship at the Center for Drug Free Living Outpatient Services in Orlando. I am trained in EFT(Emotional Freedom Technique) and became a Certified Life Coach in 2011. I am the Past President of Mental Health Counselors of Central Florida and an active member of the American Counseling Association. Additionally I serve as a member of the Board of Advisors of Rollins College Hamilton Holt School.

I find my life experience to be one of my best tools in counseling. I feel we are all fellow “pilgrims” and I am not an expert on your life. You are. I just collaboratively guide you and shine a light on your possible blind spots. I have been married since 1973, have two grown married children and a grandchild. I spent many years as a stay-at-home mom and active community volunteer. When I entered my own “existential vacuum,” I decided to return to school and continue a career that had been whispering in my ear for many years. I believe strongly in lifelong learning and that it is never too late to change our steps. That is one of the reasons I feel so strongly about the value of counseling. I truly love the work I do and consider it an honor and privilege to help others explore their lives and make the necessary changes needed to feel whole.

I work with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. I offer individual counseling and couples counseling. I  believe the mind/body/spirit connection is essential to feel whole. I also pay close attention to gender and sexual orientation, cultural, and spiritual viewpoints of my clients as this greatly impacts who they are.
